Wind Band ACYPS Awards Shortlist

Exciting news! Our Transitions Wind Band has been shortlisted for an award in the Creative Learning category for the Aberdeen Children and Young People's Service Awards after I nominated them in July. The wind band programme has now been running for 4 years at the school. It was initially brought to St Machar Academy by Mr Stewart Gilmour and Mr Eddie Paley over 20 years ago and it has been a very rewarding challenge to bring it back again. Our Transitions Wind BaND rehearses every Wednesday after school and is attended by a variety of young people from S1 - S5 and from our associated primary schools. The AYCPS Award Ceremony takes place on Tuesday 2nd October so fingers crossed for a winning result!
